Recording Graveyards

When I started out in archaeology in 1975 one of the first pieces of fieldwork I was involved in was recording a graveyard. This used an impossible coding system, making the records ready for computerisation and quantitative analysis. Therefore to my amazement I found 30 odd years later, when I had to record one professionally, that there were no published examples!
